25 years of marriage of Paul and Marie-Chantal of Greece

If Greece were still a kingdom, Paul would be its crown prince today.

On July 1, 1995, London welcomed the Gotha on the occasion of the wedding of Prince Paul of Greece and MarieChantal Miller. If Greece were still a kingdom, Paul would be its crown prince today.

Born in 1967, he was only a few months old when his father King Constantine was forced into exile. Nephew of Queen Sophie of Spain and Queen Margrethe of Denmark, he grew up in London and studied in Georgetown with his cousin King Felipe of Spain.

It was at a party in the New York area that he met Marie Chantal Miller, daughter of billionaire Robert Miller, nicknamed the king of duty free. Born in London, she spent her childhood in Hong Kong and then attended the very upscale Swiss Le Rosey college and the Ecole active bilingual in Paris. Before her marriage, she was already considered with her sisters Pia (who was married to billionaire Christopher Getty) and Alexandra (who was married to Prince Alexander von Fürstenberg, son of Belgian-born designer Diane von Fürstenberg) as the princesses of New York.

The marriage proposal took place in a cable car during a stay in the snow in Gstaad, Switzerland. The chosen engagement ring is composed of sapphire and diamonds to recall the blue and white of the Greek flag.

25 years of marriage of Paul and Mary -Chantal from Greece

Relations between the Greek royal family and the government were not yet peaceful in 1995, so the wedding was organized in the Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Sophia in London by Lady Elizabeth Anson, cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. The bride, wearing a pearl and diamond tiara, wore a creation by Valentino, a long-time friend of the Miller family.

The whole bench and the back bench of Gotha rushed to the wedding. Queen Elizabeth, who is close to the Greek royal family, even traveled with the Prince of Wales. Belgium was represented by Prince Laurent. The British sovereign made Hampton Court Palace available for the rest of the festivities.

Paul and Marie Chantal had five children: Maria Olympia (1996), Constantin Alexios (1998), Achileas Andreas (2000), Odysée Simon (2004) and Aristidis Stavros (2008).

After initially living in the United States, they settled in London. Paul works in the field of finance while Marie-Chantal launched an elegant line of children's clothing simply called Marie-Chantal and which quickly counted in its clientele the children of Victoria of Sweden or Mary of Denmark.

At the head of an imposing fortune, Princess Marie-Chantal is ranked by the Sunday Times as the 12th richest woman in England. The couple and their children lead an active social life but still cultivate a great family spirit. Their year is punctuated by snow holidays in Gstaad, white sand beaches in the Bahamas where the Miller clan owns a villa, weekend getaways in the very chic Hamptons, summer in Greece and their domain of Cotswolds in England where they devote themselves to hunting. The family is now settled in a house in Manhattan.

Marie-Chantal and her daughter Maria Olympia are both very active on Instagram, sharing their outings and family moments. 25 years later, Paul and Marie Chantal from Greece certainly form one of the most solid and happy couples in Gotha.
