The diocese of Saint-Brieuc and Tréguier is organizing its first “Brittany-style” cousinade on Saturday, in Quessoy
It's been three years that the idea of organizing "a cousinade à la mode de Bretagne" has titillated the diocese of Saint-Brieuc and Tréguier. A first in the Côtes-d'Armor. "But with the health crisis, this project had to be postponed," says Céline Boniteau, diocesan head of family ministry. “This cousinhood has all the more meaning today, because we feel even more strongly the need to find each other and to recreate the link. »
Already 260 registered participants
The date of Saturday, October 9 was therefore chosen for this gathering "of the great family of the Catholic Church in the department". But not only. “The event is open to everyone, not just the faithful. And this, whatever the connection of the participants with the Church or whatever their family reality”, specifies Céline Boniteau. Monday, October 4, 260 people, including 70 children, had already announced their arrival at La Ville Davy, in Quessoy, next weekend. "In the end, we hope to have at least 300, or even many more", announces Justine Guilbaud, responsible for communication in the diocese.
Talks around different themes
This “reunion time” will start on Saturday, around noon. Everyone will bring their own picnic. The start of the festivities is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. A babysitting service will be set up for 1-6 year olds. The afternoon will be rich in various activities: inflatable games, bubble football, magic show, storytelling, workshops for making birdhouses, household products and bouquets of floral art, but also an introduction to circus and Breton dance...
Talks around different themes (ecological conversion, transmission of the faith in the family, how to talk about affectivity and sexuality to children, the place and mission of women in the Church, etc.) are also scheduled.
The marquee, rented from the Gervais circus, will be the place of a time of prayer from 2 p.m., before giving way, at 5:30 p.m., to the mass presided over by the bishop, Mgr Denis Moutel. The day will end with a fest-noz hosted by Les Menettous and a diatonic violin-accordion duo.
