Quality clothing that is both vintage and timeless, for individuals and professionals. This is how we could define Bleu Blaton. The brand is based in Comines, in the premises of SNV, the specialist in workwear for professionals.Bleu Blaton, the workwear brand that appeals to professionals and the general publicBleu Blaton, the workwear brand that appeals to professionals and the general public

A family business

"This company was founded by my father in 1987. I arrived here five years ago with the aim of taking it over later", contextualizes Pierre-Alain Nollet. The company does not make ready-to-wear and only sells its products to distributors.

But that was without counting on the arrival of Fanny, the little sister, in 2019. "We both created Bleu Blaton, a ready-to-wear 'workwear' brand, based on the expertise that we have acquired with SNV", continues the 32-year-old Northerner. At the Nollet's, we therefore work as a family. Pierre-Alain manages the manufacturing part and Fanny takes care of sales and marketing.

For the record, “Blue” obviously refers to overalls, and “Blaton” is the district of Linselles where the two co-founders are from.

A committed brand

The models are designed in Comines, but they are made in Tunisia. “This allows us to have prices that remain accessible to our customers. And we work with family workshops that have a certain expertise”, emphasizes Pierre-Alain. Even if it subcontracts the confection, the company controls from A to Z all the elements of its products, as well the buttons, as the threads, the pressures, the labels, the fabrics... It has been collaborating with the same suppliers for 30 years .

The brand also wants to limit its carbon footprint as much as possible. Between Tunis and Lille, no plane intervenes. The trip from Tunisia to Marseille is by boat and the rest by rail.

For individuals…

Some of the clothes are upcycled: “At SNV, we sometimes have unsold items. We therefore tried to upgrade these products by modifying small details. This gives them a second chance.” That is precisely the Second Chance range, which is 30% cheaper than the other models. Count for example 69 euros for upcycled overalls.

Otherwise, Bleu Blaton's best seller is its Romy jacket at 79 euros. A simple and effective product, which is unisex and comes in several colors. A little practical originality, this jacket can be folded into its large inside pocket.

In total, the brand has around ten points of sale throughout France and even in Milan. In the Hauts-de-France, you will find it at the Grand Playground in Lille and at the Plongeoir in Le Touquet.

…and professionals

For her part, Fanny has also sought to develop a clientele of professionals. As a result, Bleu Blaton has already dressed a lot of teams, especially restaurants in Lille. Institutions such as Méert, le Rozo, le Comptoir Volant, but also newcomers such as La Canopée, Alien and Grand Scène. "In general, we make kitchen jackets, aprons, blouses or t-shirts for them," says Pierre-Alain. Customizable models that can be produced in large quantities to dress an entire team.

Practical information: All products are available on the Bleu Blaton website. The brand also has its Instagram account.
