Which Oakley glasses for which use? #2: EV PATH RADAR
PRICE : 187.00€
WE LOVE: impeccable hold (even on choppy downhill trails), lightness, effective ventilation. Customization that multiplies the possibilities - understatement.
WE LIKE LESS: marked price, optical correction that we still dream of..
VERDICT :
At first glance, it's a flashback to the 1990s: Oakley's success period, enveloping frames, futuristic design. We plunge back into the triathlon/Grande Boucle atmosphere, with this curve and a colorization that has flourished. But we do not evacuate 40 years in this way, and the US firm still signs itself with these frames.
In use, the Oakley sensation remains: the temples and nose pads in Unobtainium® are flexible but without deformation, and come to rest on the face comfortably. We fear a little the width of the whole, in the loops of the bicycle helmet or under the cap – but nothing to report. The pair in place, it supports the most hectic sports without fail: trail or bike descents (over-inflated wheel + carbon frame... all the pleasure of suffering on the 1st pothole), cervical round trips and skull in all senses. Nothing to complain about, this Radar EV Path is super ergonomic. What about eyesight, which is essential…for glasses?
The perceived visual field is as advertised: increased upper peripheral zone, a very slight blind spot (but how to avoid it unless you're a rabbit), but a wide and high perception. Yes, don't forget the vertical dimension...and impressive customization: 2 lens shapes and 9 shades, 21 logo colors, 14 for the temples...and the possibility of engraving everything!
On the ventilation side, this is undoubtedly the 2 nd bonus of the RADAR EV PATH: the high undulations work; fog may appear in cold/wet/cloudy weather…but it disappears in real time. Hidden, you said? Ideal for cycling, but totally versatile, this Oakley remains a safe bet.
